Please see information below regarding the golf cart community ordinance.

After receiving a great deal of support from residents, we are finally presenting the golf cart community ordinance to the Douglas County Board.  The link below will take you to the public notice.  As you know, it is currently illegal to drive a golf cart on the street at any time.  The ordinance would allow licensed and insured drivers to utilize a street between sunup and sundown.  We have a comprehensive plan to place signage in the neighborhoods to alert drivers of the possibility of encountering a cart, should Douglas County approve the ordinance.  There are many restrictions and we believe this enhances the safety of the neighborhood.  Please use the contact us feature if you have any questions.  Important details, restrictions, and penalties for violation are listed below.  Please note, this is not yet effective and is only a notice of a proposal.  You may not use a golf cart on the street and you may be ticketed and/or have the cart towed, if you are stopped by law enforcement.
